Welcome! I'm Courtney Coleman, and my passion for early childhood education started when I was a teenager, babysitting for a few of my high school teachers.

 

During college, I worked at a cooperative child-care program where parents volunteered their time, which deepened my love for this field. After earning my bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Indiana University-Bloomington, I held various roles, from being a nanny to teaching preschool.

Before I began running Payton's Play Space, I was the director of a childcare center in Downtown Indianapolis. However, the role I've cherished most, besides being a mom, is mentoring childcare programs through the state’s quality rating improvement system – Paths to Quality. In 2019, I added to my professional skills by completing an Infant-Toddler Specialization certificate from Ball State University.

 

My wife and I have a lively daughter who loves dancing, drawing, and playing with Barbies. In my spare time, I enjoy family outings, playing board games, bowling, yoga, and watching sports.
